Teachers Kira Billek and Kara Reavis have been members of the Kenilworth Community Preschool as parents and active members of the preschool board. When the opportunity to step into the role of teacher presented itself, it was a natural progression for both of them. They are dedicated to the preschool’s values of providing a developmentally appropriate curriculum and building community.
Kira received her Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College. She taught kindergarten for 15 years in the Bay Area before having her children and moving back to Oregon. She is happy to be back in the classroom teaching again.
Kara has worked with children of all ages. She started as a nanny when she was a young adult. She has been a dance instructor and a tutor teaching reading and English. She obtained her Master of Arts in Teaching with a Dyslexia Certificate from Pacific University. She spent a year as a substitute teacher in the Portland Public School District’s lower elementary classes.
