Happy Fall everyone! Last Friday the Bear class had a sudden burst of excitement about apples. Since then apples have been our focus. We have cut them open looking inside finding seed, blossom, stem and even a worm! We have used our bodies to grow from a seed to tree with the wind in our branches. Used apples with paint for stamping and made applesauce.
Next week we will continue our apple exploration as we make apple cider! This is where I need your help! It takes a lot of apples to press cider and I would love to have families bring in a variety for us to use. We will be pressing cider on Wednesday and Thursday but would be happy to have apples start coming in earlier in the week.
With a beautiful fall weekend ahead many of you may be out walking. If you see acorns, chestnuts, walnut shells, pine cones large and small, cool rocks, or other natural loose parts I encourage you to collect them for our classroom. We use all of these natural loose parts in a variety of ways in the classroom and it is the time of year to stock up!
We have a great year ahead! Have a wonderful weekend.
Kindly,
Teacher Allisen
